Each year Hyland Hills is fortunate enough to have hundreds of outstanding young men and women playing hockey at our association. They go on and continue to make us proud, both in and outside of hockey. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize one such Jaguar alumnus, Kyle Brodie. Currently Kyle is playing, and excelling, at Division 1 Bemidji State University. More importantly, Kyle is succeeding in the classroom and as a great role model for all of our younger Jaguars who would love to follow in his footsteps. Please read more of his story here.

It was with the deepest sorrow that the Hyland Hills Jr. Hockey Association announced the sudden passing of former Jaguar & Outlaw player, Cody Smail on November 11, 2011. The entire hockey community was saddened by this news.
Cody's ALL IN work ethic, energetic style of play, and constant smile will be missed by all of us. As a memorial tribute, Hyland Hills Hockey players will wear Cody’s number 6 on their helmets for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. We ask that the players place the sticker on the back left corner of the helmet.
The Board of Directors has also founded the Cody Smail Memorial Scholarship. This fund will award a scholarship to a Hyland Hills Jaguar hockey player who exemplifies characteristics similar to how Cody played this great sport. ALL IN with love of the game, courage and determination. It is the intent of Hyland Hills Hockey Association for the award recipient to use the scholarship money to help offset their season hockey fees.

Doug Smail, Director of Player Development invited Miss West to his Camp of No Forgiveness to accentuate needed skating protocols for young hockey players. The skills Miss West will teach during Friday Power Skating are developmentally critical for hockey players.
