What programs does the association offer?
HHHA offers teams that play at the in-house level (DNHL), and the Travel (CCYHL)
In-house teams play in the Denver North Hockey League (DNHL) against house teams from Arvada Boulder, and Ft. Collins. These teams practice once or twice per week in addition to league games. Limited tournament play is possible.
Travel teams (AA, A, B, & C) teams play in the Colorado Competitive Youth Hockey League (CCYHL) Travel teams play teams from Arvada, Arapahoe, Boulder, Colorado Springs, D.U., Front Range, Ft. Collins, Foothills and Littleton youth hockey associations in league play. Playoffs are held at the end of the season with a possibility of advancing to a state championship game. AA teams have the possibility of advancing to state, regional & national championships. Teams practice 3 or more times per week in addition to league games. Travel teams usually play 3 or more tournament each season in and out of the state.
How long is the season?
The ice hockey season runs from the end of August into March. CCYHL Player evaluations and team selections start in late August. DNHL Player evaluations are held in September and 8 & Under evaluations start in October.
After teams are selected practices begin and most teams start playing league games and tournament games in October. Playoffs usually start at the beginning of March. Playoff games and tournament games are usually finished by the end of March.
How much does it cost to play?
The Association fee for our DNHL (house) program is approximately $800. The fee for the 8 & under house program starts at approximately $650 for the A Pool level and go up from there to an approximate maximum of TBD for D Pool level. Association fees for Travel teams start at approximately $1050 and go up depending on the level of the team. Association fees cover ice costs for practices and games, referee fees, and administrative expenses.
In addition to the association fees, there are also team fees (tournament fees, transportation, lodging and coaches expenses for tournaments, team activity expenses and other travel related expenses) as well as game jersey fees.
What are the age groups?
The Division of hockey you play in depends on your birthyear. For this year the divisions are:

What equipment is needed?
In addition to skates full protective equipment is required to play ice hockey. The following is required:

| Cup, Knee & Shin Pads | |
| Elbow Pads | |
| Black Hockey Pants | |

| Mouthguard for PeeWee and older |
Not required but these are suggested items; mouth guard ( for all ages) and a neck protector.
