 February 6, 2012 - Monday 6:30 pm
ICAP Party Rooms (located next to the Green Rink)

Hockey Director Shawn Kurulak and the Board of Directors invite you to one of the most important talks you may ever hear.  In light of all the recent tragic news involving children and sexual predators we felt it incumbent upon ourselves to provide all of our members with the best information possible.  To that end, we are fortunate and grateful to present Police Sgt. and author Jon Holsten.  Mr. Holsten will share stories, lessons and stategies we need to learn to keep precious children in our lives safe from harm. We encourage all to attend.

Please see the links below for the informational flyer, Mr. Holsten's bio, and a letter of invitation from our Hockey Director Shawn Kurulak

Concussions - A Video Primer

With concussions being a very real, and unfortunate, reality in sports these days, we thought we would provide the below video in hopes that our players, parents, and other members will benefit in some way.  Please feel free to point your friends here as well.  We care about them too!

Cody Smail Memorial Stickers and Scholarship Fund

It was with the deepest sorrow that the Hyland Hills Jr. Hockey Association announced the sudden passing of former Jaguar & Outlaw player, Cody Smail on November 11, 2011. The entire hockey community was saddened by this news.

Cody's ALL IN work ethic, energetic style of play, and constant smile will be missed by all of us. As a memorial tribute, Hyland Hills Hockey players will wear Cody’s number 6 on their helmets for the remainder of the 2011-12 season. We ask that the players place the sticker on the back left corner of the helmet.

The Board of Directors has also founded the Cody Smail Memorial Scholarship. This fund will award a scholarship to a Hyland Hills Jaguar hockey player who exemplifies characteristics similar to how Cody played this great sport.  ALL IN with love of the game, courage and determination. It is the intent of Hyland Hills Hockey Association for the award recipient to use the scholarship money to help offset their season hockey fees.
